OOC: You'll have to excuse the Titanic-ness of this thread
It was evening, about supper time she supposed. And Delilah Lewis was not in the least hungry. Her small figure stood, stone-like against the wind as she looked down at the waves below the ship. The air was heavy, and thick. It weighed her down, the back of her neck beginning to sweat from the un-wanted heat her blonde hair gave off. She was dressed casually, but nicely in a salmon colored dress shirt, it's top three buttons open revealing a white tank top. A nice black skirt covered her waist, and ended just below her knees. Delilah was a fairly modest girl who never broke the rules, never went partying at the late hours of the night, and never got a chance to do so. She was trapped, in all honesty.
Her caribbean blues glanced down at the deck's flooring a moment to spot her black hand bag. She bent down to grab it and inside lay her hair tie. Lilah lifted it out with ease, and clasped the bag closed before putting it back where she'd found it. She lifted her arms and gathered her hair into a pony tail to get it off her shoulders. A cool breeze began to come aboard, as night time had officially fallen. The ships lights had come on, illuminating the sea before it. It was eerie.. she had a sickening feeling in her gut, almost as though something bad could happen. But that was stupid, nothing would happen. This ship was absolutely incredible! There was no way anything could happen to it. It wasn't like the Titanic or anything like that.. right?

Caden stepped out onto the middle deck which was, at this time of night, illuminated by the eerie glow of the ships lights. The lights reflected off the see which sent patterns of light dashing across the sides of the ship before they raced out of existence. He watched this display a little before turning to look the deck over. To his dismay there was someone else there. He had hoped that the deck would be empty since it was dark and around the time most people were eating dinner. He stepped a little farther onto the deck to get a better look at the girl. She didn't seem to be older, and he had figured most of the younger crowd would be busy mingling. He noticed the girl looked to be of first class, even if slightly less up tightly dressed than most of first class. That surprised him since he had figured most of first class would want to stay away from second and third class. Oh well, he stepped to the side and placed himself on a bench looking out at the ocean beyond the lights. You could see no stars and it was pitch black as far as the eye could see. It was like the ship was the only source of light left.

The petite blonde eyed the pitch black sea before her with sincere interest. Her hands grasped the rail of the ship tightly as she stepped up onto it, swallowing. If she fell, she fell. Maybe that was for the best. Falling into the ocean.. it would mean death wouldn't it? And wouldn't that be better? Lilah thought back, way back to all of the things that had ruined her previous personality. Everything from her stupid ignorant parents, and the no love no loss attitude she'd always carried around. The wind rippled the loose parts of her shirt, and her skirt, but did not blow it up to expose anything considering this was a very straight figured skirt. Her shoes, she'd left behind upon the deck. They only made it harder to climb.
Taking in a very deep breath, Delilah slowly climbed up another bar and swung her legs over so she sat upon the upper bar. Her small hands clamped incredibly hard onto the cold metal, as she suddenly realized that the sight infront of her was much better than leaving everything behind. It was complete darkness for a few more minutes until.. the biggest moon she'd ever seen slid out from behind a huge cloud, blanketing the deck in very bright eerie light. Her eyes lit up as the gigantic white orb floated above their boat as though it were merely a child's toy. Her nerves dissapeared completely as her grip slowly lightened. She suddenly felt as though there was no way she could fall.. but how wrong she was. Gravity never did turn itself off, and so Delilah had to catch herself abruptly from falling as her grip got a bit too careless and she practically fell forward into the dark ocean. A small yelp emmited from her lips as she closed her eyes to regain composure. That was close.

Caden heard a small yelp come from over by the railing. The girl he had seen before was now sitting on top of the railing and looked like she had almost lost her balance. He quickly ran over to her, seeing his way now not by the glow of the ships lights but by the light cast by the moon. He ran up to her slightly out of breath and leaned against the railing looking up at her. "Are you crazy?!?!" He demanded. "If you fell the impact itself could kill you, and if that didn't do it you would soon drown or get caught in the ships propellers. If you are trying to kill yourself I'm sure there are better ways. Though I'm not sure why in the world you would want to do that." He continued. Standing up straight so that he was no longer leaning on the railing he said softer now, "Come on, get down from there." He held out his hand to help her from the railing, hoping to god she would take it.

Lilah's head whipped around quickly as she was suddenly sitting close to a boy around her age. Her eyes, wide at first softened at his knowledge of what would happen to her if indeed she did fall. "I-," She didn't exactly know what to say to that. Her face took on a sort of grim expression, thinking of how terrible it would be to get caught in the ship's propellers, or drowning in the icey water for that matter. What she'd orginally hoped would be that the water would instantly kill her on contact. She breathed in, completely void of anything to say.
Straightening her posture, Delilah eyed his hand longingly, but felt as though she was glued to her current spot. "I.. can't." She stated with a small voice, her face flooded with apparent fear.

He looked at her. She looked so scared. "Why can't you? What would drive someone as beautiful and obviously privileged as you to dance with death?" He asked her. "Come on," He said almost pleadingly. "You have to get down. You don't really want to die. Plus, now if you fall they will think I pushed you. You really want to make me go to jail for trying to help you?" He still held his hand out to help her down. He couldn't leave the girl sitting there ready to jump.

Truth was, she was too scared to move. "No.. I.. I don't think I can move." Delilah quipped, her large caribbean blue eyes scanning the dark waves down below.
"No.. I don't necessarily want you to go to jail." Her tone was quiet, and small.. Almost as though it didn't belong to her at all. "Please.. don't go; I think I can-," But De cut herself off as she slowly began to turn on the rail.. ready to get down. She breathed in very deeply and felt as though she were about to cry.. the fear was ammounting to too much. Turning quickly, her fear of falling growing, Delilah grasped onto his hand firmly.. merely for the knowledge that someone had her back if she was to slip.
She slowly swung one leg over the side, all the time her gaze wide and un-sure. And just like that, a bad balance action caused her to suddenly fall back. Lilah screamed and tightened her grip on his head, her legs locking onto the rail. "Don't let me go!" She cried in a very high pitched voice, her eyes incredibly fearful.

He was relieved as she took his hand and began to return to the ship. When she suddenly slipped almost falling his grip automatically tightened around her hand. He reached for her other hand so he could pull her over the rail. He looked her straight in the eyes. "I'm not going to let you go. You aren't going to fall." He said calmly and simply. As if it was that easy. But on the inside he was having a panic attack. All he could think of was to get this girl back onto the firm ground of the ships deck. "Give me your other hand." He said.

Delilah honestly wanted to believe him. But it was her mistrust in people that held her back from doing anything that she particularly wanted to do. She tried to lean forward, but realized that he would need to pull her back.. because sadly she didn't have the abs to pull it off.
She nodded, her fears slowly going away. Slowly, Delilah Lewis reached up her left hand, trying to meet it with his. She furrowed her eyebrows, moving slowly as not to cause herself anymore reason to fall back.. and finally grasped hold strong enough for him to assist her. "Okay!" She quipped nervously trying to pull her small self back up to the railing successfully.

He sighed with relief when she was back up on the railing. He hadn't even known he had been holding his breath. Then he looked at her and smiled. "Just like we knew what we were doing." He said jokingly, but his voice was a little shaky from the scare. "You should probably come down from there now. Unless you want to go through that whole ordeal again for some crazy reason." He said. He smile at her encouragingly.

Delilah felt the beginnings of a smile appear upon her features, but all at once they stopped. That had been much too scary for her taste.. and at the moment she couldn't appreciate his attempts to lighten the mood. "Exactly," De said quietly, blinking down at the deck.
She was more than happy to jump off the rail, still gripping his hand to make sure she didn't fall. Once her bare feet met the cool wood of the deck, Delilah scratched at her arm, at a loss of what to say. "Thanks.. I might have jumped.. if you hadn't showed up." She said bashfully, feeling incredibly stupid to have even thought of the idea.

"No problem." He said softly. "Are you ok, like you aren't hurt or anything?" He asked her looking her over. "Oh, by the way, my name's Caden." He added as an afterthought.

"Yes, .. I-I'm fine." She answered curtly, clearing her throat slightly as she brushed off the front of her skirt out of habit. Delilah slowly moved gently passed him to retrieve her shoes, and slip them on over her chilled feet. She turned back to him, careful not to lean against the rail. We wouldn't want a little repeat of what had just happened.
She perked her head up from slipping on her shoes. "Delilah." A polite smile slid across her lips as she extended her hand to shake his. After all, Ms. Delilah Lewis was rather old fashioned.

He took her outstretched hand and shook it. "It is a pleasure to meet you Delilah." He said. Leaning against the railing behind him he continued, "And how did you sneak away from the fancy dinner I am sure you were supposed to be attending?"

Delilah nodded, taking her hand back gently. "You too, Caden." Another nod, before she crossed her arms comfortably over her stomach.
She shrugged, a very small smile began to tug at the corners of her lips. "Er.. what was it now? Oh, 'Mom, I'm feeling terribly. Would it be alright if I skip dinner tonight?' Or something like that,"
